Ladies and Gentlemen, I have an announcement to make. If you have been following my blog, I thank you wholeheartedly. I now regret to inform you that I need to slightly inconvenience you by asking that you now refer to HERE to read my blog entries. I will no longer be writing much in this blog. There is no real reason why I have changed blogs, it is just one of my many whims. Mainly, it is because Windows Spaces looks nice and works better in Windows Live Writer.

I will still come regularly to check the chat box, and even if I don't reply, I DO read them, so feel free to say anything you want, like things I should talk about, or things I shouldn't talk about. Stuff like that.

Thank You, and I apologize again for this minor inconvenience.

Christmas is coming soon, 5 more days. The thing is, I haven't actually bought any gifts for anyone. I have decided, due to my poor financial situation, that I shall only buy gifts for my immediate family members. Now, the question is, "What shall I buy?". I hate buying Christmas gifts. I can't seem to think of something that would be useful to the said people.

I'll cross that hurdle when I come to it, though the hurdle is pretty damn close. I'll probably have to cross it either tomorrow, or on Monday.

Anyways, I'll have to budget myself, so as not to spend too much money on one person, and leave the rest with cheapo gifts.

Ahh. I'll go do something else now, and try to relieve myself of my boredom.

Boredom Picture

I'm bored, and I can't sleep. The reason for the first symptom may be because I'm bored of the stuff in my computer, and there is nothing really interesting for me to do. A solution would be to go amuse myself by erasing my hard disk and installing Ubuntu or something. The next symptom may have something to do with the fact that I just woke up about 3 or 4 hours ago. A solution would be to go do something really tiring, or boring, so that I will fall asleep.

Now that I have diagnosed my problems, and tried to implement solutions, I think I shall start with my real reason I wanted to write this blog entry. First of all, Christmas is coming. I don't know what to buy anyone for Christmas. It would be dumb to buy them something they don't need, and it would be cheap not to buy them anything. But, that doesn't really apply to me, as I don't have the cash to buy anything, anyways. So... I guess, there isn't much I can do.

** Since I'm bored, I decided to include a picture. This is, I think, one of the classrooms from my WSS training.**

Today, I have no school. For some reason, the poly course I was attending ended last Monday. I did the final exam, and I didn't think it would be so simple. Not trying to show off or anything, but maybe it was because the people haven't done this before, and as such cannot be expected to do something complex.

For the final exam, we had to move to a different class. We had to follow the lecturer, since we were not proper students in the school, we were on an attachment kind of thing. I didn't know the school had a zoo in it. Unlike my regular class, this class was full of monkeys who couldn't follow instructions. Also, for some strange reason, they enjoyed screaming and yelling. Hmm. Perhaps monkeys are too powerful a word for them. Let's put it this way. I've blown more intelligent life into a hankerchief.

Anyways, now I have Monday afternoons and Fridays free. How nice. I shall now go gloat at my friends who, incidentally, have school today. How weird. :D

I realise I haven't been blogging much. I know I should, just to let people know what's happening around me, but I get lazy, especially with the tons of school I have now. By the time I come back, I don't really want to look at a computer screen anymore.

Well.. Anyways, these are the things that have changed since my last blog, about a month ago.

1. I signed up for a FaceBook account, after much bugging from my brother and my sister. I don't use it much though.

2. I realised that actually having to study is difficult.

3. I picked up tennis about 2 weeks ago.

4. There are many annoying people in my class. (I know this isn't really a change, but I just want to reiterate that point.)

5. My sister got her PSLE results.

6. I lost the cover for my thumbdrive.

7. Realised that Poly is much more fun than ITE, and the food is better.

Heh... Offhand, those are the things I can think of.

I was reading some stuff on the Internet, and I found an article stating that a game was being pulled off the shelf because one of the soundtracks contained ONE line from a holy book. The game company is afraid that the game may offend the religion in question.  That's stupid. Why are they so easily offended? Are they purposely looking for reasons to get offended? How stupid.

I am in a bad mood today. My siblings are..  How do you say... Fickle-minded and self-centered. I will not go into details, but it is embarrasing to be their brother.

I just read somewhere that Microsoft is suing DHL over the loss of over 21000 XBOX 360's in a train crash. Well. That's a lot of 360's..

Microsoft should sue. I mean, it was really unethical of DHL to let their train crash like that. It's just wrong. Really unprofessional, these people.

How do I find out if others are jealous of me.  They behave in ways that suggest jealousy. They have no reason to be though.. They enjoyed more than me in the past. They had better things. No reason at all. Can't they just leave me alone? I don't ask for much, just for some peace and quiet once in a  while.

The stupid people probably feel inferior to me. That's why they need to bring me down with all their insults.

It sucks. It’s too slow to run Vista. I can’t play games. I can’t even play low level games. Even those free ones which are free to download can’t be played. It’s bloody annoying. It’s too damn slow to do anything. Mostly it’s the graphics that are stupid and pathetic. I can’t even put desktop themes on. How stupid.  I’m bloody irritated. I can’t play games with my friends. Then I have nothing to talk about with them. It’s so stupid.

My PSP memory stick is spoiled, and I don’t know why. I didn’t do anything with it. I was playing a game halfway, and it hung. Now, it won’t even recognise the damn card. Seems like the whole damn world is trying to irritate me. And it all has to happen during my holiday. BLOODY IDIOTIC SHITS.

As above, I cannot sleep!!  WHY!!!! IT IS 3.18 in the bloody morning!! This is quite frustrating, as I get hungry. I most of the time I only manage to sleep at about 4 or 5. Irritating.

Hmm… I need sleeping pills. I cannot think of a reason why I cannot sleep. I can’t be worried about anything. I am not in pain. I am not suffering mentally. So… WHY?!?!?!

24

.. in my opinion. I am very bored. I have nothing to do. I have no money to go out. I cannot get a job. I have finished slacking. Therefore, now, the following statement is true : Holiday = Waste of Time.

Anyway, my BIRTHDAY is coming!!  It's on the 7th of October. I shall be turning nineteen, the last of my so-called 'teen' years. Hmmm.. I can't really think of anything realistic I want for my birthday. For example, I want a Ferrari. I want to go to Australia or Japan. I want a private jet. I want to take a flying licence, if there is such a thing. And the list goes on. All these things are impossible for me to get right now. As such, there is nothing that I really want. What would be nice is for everyone to have a nice BBQ party, and drink lots of wine. I like BBQ parties. Satay is my favorite. I like chicken and pork satay, but mutton would do too.

Good thing my birthday is during my holidays. Some people in school can get really childish. For example, they want to punch me 19 times each, since I'm 19 this year. I wonder where that stupid tradition came from. I warn you people. I will practice self-defence. I'm not really one for tradition.

General Marian Cross

And I don't know why. I'm bloody tired, and my eyes hurt. However, I feel really uncomfortable when I close them. Weird feeling. The right side is now red, due to the consistent rubbing I have given it. I know that I shouldn't be rubbing my eye, but I can't help it. It becomes so itchy. Stupid eye.

Man..  This totally sucks. I WANT TO SLEEP! Now there's a stupid song playing. I don't even know why I have it on my computer.

I need money. It's not that I'm lazy and don't want to get a job, but it seems that no one wants to hire someone for 3 weeks, the duration of my school holidays. I don't want to work during school time, since I cannot afford my standard dropping. Anyone have any openings?

***That guy in the picture is General Marian Cross from the Anime D.Greyman. I found it on some guy's forum signature.***

Well...  I returned home at about 10 pm. The car show had some nice cars, but nothing seriously outstanding. No Zondas, Maseratis, or whatever... The girls were kind of stupid looking, with their ugly outfits and fake behaviour. There was loud music, but that was to be expected, since it's a beng kind of thing. The music of choice was, of course, trance. Horrible and repetitive, especially with the extremely loud bass.

Super Import Nights was, truly, a great disappointment.

I will be going to the Super Import Nights at Singapore Expo later, and I am meeting four of my friends. I hope the cars there will be good, since the girls don't look good, judging from the website. They look like ghosts, probably because of their 10 cm thick layer of makeup.

Ah well, I may report more on the car show tonight, with some pictures, if there are anything worth taking.

Well. Obviously, I just came back from a chalet with my family, and it was quite fun. We didn't really do much, but it was a good way to de-stress, with all the slacking and all. We went to the SAF Yacht Club, where my father is a member. The place is really nice and peaceful, with a nice sea view, although mostly we are looking at some patch of land quite a distance away (Indonesia, I think). The food there is great, and the atmosphere is nice. What more could you want. Heh. It was a 2 days 3 nights thing.

If you had noticed, I removed the "Song Of The Week" section, because Imeem was being annoying, by not allowing me to play the full song on this blog. I'm only playing the song, not letting people download it. What's so bad about that? I'm not infringing any copyrights. Hmm... I'm bringing publicity to the song, which is a good thing for the artistes. Stupid people.

Oh yes.. Just to vent : MY PAY IS NOT IN YET!!! AFTER MORE THAN 2 MONTHS!!!

I have reformatted my computer, since Vista lagged it too much. I installed my old copy of Windows XP, and after looking at Vista for so long, it looks kind of ugly, but it seems to respond faster.

I am typing this entry using Windows Live Writer, which I have tried once, and only once, and have not used ever since, due to the fact that I didn't have a competent computer at the time. I don't know how this will turn out, but if it comes out nicely, I might use it more often, since I don't have to worry about losing my internet connection for whatever reason, be it router failure, or whatever.

Also, I can see exactly how my post will turn out, at least I think so. This is good, since I often go back and edit my posts, because some of the words look weird against the background, or the words are in a conflicting color.

Well, I know I have said this already, but today is the first day of my school holiday, and I think it's a well deserved rest, since I only had like one week of holiday the last time, due to the WSS thing.

One more thing. Apparently, it seems that I have additional fonts to use when using Windows Live Writer. Nice.

WOOO! No more WAD!!!

... Please excuse me while I go burn the books. ...
.

Ok. I have successfully eradicated that disgusting and utterly revolting curse from my life. I hope that when the new term starts, the topics I will be learning, namely CCNA 3, which I have already done, and System Administration, which I have done halfway, will be taught by good teachers. That would make my life a lot easier.

Well, now I have a holiday till my birthday, which falls on October 7th. Good. I like holidays, especially long ones where I don't have to see any tremendously stupid, and possibly partially brain-dead people. People who have read my earlier posts should know who I mean.

Hmm... What else to say... I failed to see any particularly cute girls today, even on the ride to my Mom's office. That sucks. Nothing to keep me occupied during the long ride, which would have been shortened, had one of my friends owned a
CAR.

p.s : Check out the letters in red, they are there for a reason.

Tomorrow is the Final Examination for WAD. I need to do well in it, if I want to go on to Nanyang Polytechnic. That sucks. Why must they give me such a stupid topic just before my chance to go to Poly? Damn unlucky. Anyways, I WILL do well tomorrow, since I have done well for any other test without studying. I studied for this one, so one would think I would do better than any other test. If I do badly, then we can safely conclude that studying is bad for one's exam. :D

As the exams are next week, I have this week and most of next week off from school. This week is supposed to be the study week, and next week is the exam week, and I have only one paper on Thursday.

Damn.. The time is 5.29AM, I am hungry, and I can't sleep although I feel tired. Why is that I wonder? Well... The hungry feeling is because I didn't eat dinner, and my last meal was at about 4.45pm. And that was a packet of instant noodles. I should have eaten dinner. Never mind, I shall go buy a $2 meal from Mac's later.

I was planning to build a new computer, but after much thought, I have decided against it. One of the major reasons is that I will have no more money after building it, which is definitely a minus. Also, when I build the computer, the person who is going to use it most of the time isn't me. It's my annoying little brother. That sucks. I didn't buy the computer for him to use.

Ah, well.. I'll wait till I have more money, then I'll buy it. I'll use my current money to upgrade my notebook. Currently, it has 1.5GB of RAM. I want to upgrade it to 2GB, and buy a new SD card. Those things are cheap nowadays. Of course, I can't just buy a 512MB RAM, since the Vostro only has 2 slots, and none are available. I have to replace the 512MB one with a 1GB piece. For some wierd reason, the Vostro only supports a maximum of 2GB of RAM. Never mind. In total, those things are going to cost me like $50. Not too bad.

It's Monday again, and I hate it. I hate Mondays because my whole day is filled with Web Application Development class. It's not that the class is bad, but rather that imbecilic fool of a teacher, but I stray from the topic, since I doubt anyone would want to hear about a talking lump of overgrown chicken shit.

Anyways, now that Monday is over, I have three more days to go to the weekends, since I don't have classes on Fridays. On Tuesdays, I have WAD in the morning, and Customer Service in the afternoon. CSV is quite a fun class, and I look forward to it every week. On Wednesdays, I have Sports and Wellness in the morning, and WAD in the afternoon. For some weird reason, Thursday's timetable is exactly the same as Tuesday. A bit of laziness on the planner's part, I should think.

There was a test today, and since that pathetic excuse for a teacher didn't go through most of the topics, we wanted to postpone the test. The was no postponement, but another teacher came in to teach us what we had missed. As such, the test started at about 3.00 pm, and ended at about 5.30. Well.. That sucked. I think I'll do quite well anyways, since the other teacher went through what we had missed.

Also, I had breakfast in the morning with two of my friends. They were both late. One doesn't take public transport that often, so I can't blame him for not knowing the timings, but the other one takes public transport every day, and yet he decided to come late. People nowadays...

Well, only one assignment, one theory test and one major exam to go... I hope all of them will be easy. I hate it when I have to do difficult and boring subjects.

I didn't go to school today. It's tiring. Especially when you have a crappy teacher which I try not to include in almost every blog entry I make, but somehow he always comes up. I think I've been traumatised by him. This kind of teacher is bad for students. Academically and mentally. Anyways, I don't want to talk about that lumbering buffoon anymore.

I reformatted my computer today, since I had nothing much to do. It was getting really slow and annoying. The thing with having a Windows OS is that stuff gets piled up. The installing/uninstalling of applications tends to corrupt the OS, and all the DLL files installed will never go away, making the DLL Library a scary place when the computer is trying to find the files needed to run a particular program. Then comes the defragging of the HDD. The time taken to defrag one of these can be better used to reinstall Windows, INCLUDING the re-copying of the files. This basically means I can have a working Windows XP in 45 - 60 minutes. Well..

Heh..

For some reason, I can't sleep. Might be because I'm not tired, but I doubt that's the answer. I feel like shit. Not soft and squishy like shit, but I feel bad, horrible, even. I don't know why. My eyes hurt for no reason, and I need to go to school early tomorrow, since there's a test to do.

Damn. Now there's a stupid song playing, and I don't know why I don't change it. I shall not name the song for fear of insulting others.

***I need to try to sleep. Sleep. Sleep. Sleep. Slee....***

Well.

It seems they screwed up. Again. In the Games, we came in second for that game. That isn't a bad thing, unless you take into account the fact that our players are from OVERSEAS. That makes it a OVERSEAS vs. OVERSEAS final, not a US vs. OVERSEAS final, like it should be. I can tell you the reason why we lost. The reason is very simple, and will come to you if you think hard enough.

We import these so-called 'athletes' from other countries. Why would they want to leave the country, and play for another country? Because they suck. They are rejects from that country, and when they come here, they will seem good because of the lack of talent in US. When they actually reach the Games, they will see that they are nothing special, compared to the first class athletes of the other countries.

I have changed some of the words, but if you live where I do, and you actually watch the propaganda channel, you would know what I mean. Obviously, I have changed the words so people can't go saying that I am 'causing trouble' and arrest me.

For some reason, I went crazy today, and downloaded a lot of browsers. I downloaded four, Safari, Flock, Maxthon and Firefox. I was using Opera previously. I guess I was bored.

Man.. I just registered for my Pre-NS Medical Checkup. I should be submitting it tonight with my friends, so we can go together.

I also downloaded Winamp, an alternative media player. It wasn't that I was sick of using Windows Media Player, it was more like I had nothing to do.

This is unfair. I have just started learning Entity Relationship Diagram and stuff two weeks ago, and I had to do a test on it last Wednesday. Thankfully, due to the wierd way my mind seems to work, I managed to figure out the entire thing during that two hours. Some of my friends were not so lucky. They didn't do as well as they would have liked. One, for example, didn't do anything, as he said the questions didn't make sense to him. As such, he just drew random things.

Again, I finally started learning SQL today, and I have a test next Wednesday. I also have a phase test on Monday, from the same subject. The phase test thing I'm not so worried about, since it covers HTML and JavaScript, both of which I'm fairly good at, but I simply HATE SQL. It's totally stupid. It's not interesting at all, and as I'm sure you realise, learning boring stuff means the stuff takes a long time to get in. I also have a sucky teacher, whose name is Amos, which is also kind of stupid, and he may as well not be there, since whenever we ask him questions, he offers one of two generic replies. The 'Ask your friend' reply, and if that does not work, he offers the alternative, the 'Check the internet' reply. What an idiot. Freaking AH.

I was watching the 2008 Beijing Olympics opening ceremony just now, and I have come to the conclusion that the people who suffer most are the cheerleaders. The ones who stand at the edges of the track where the different countries come out. They were dancing for more than two hours, the entire time taken for all the countries to show themselves. I must say, their stamina is very high.

I also realise that there are a lot of countries I do not know about. I can't remember them now, but I know that more than one third of the countries I do not know. Well...  That's interesting.

This is a test.

Well, I have just read something on the internet, about a guy who will be charged in Singapore for 'Insulting Singapore Judges'. I shall not state my opinion, because they are extremely touchy and overly sensitive, and no matter what I say, good or bad, can be twisted against me.

Anyways, you can read about it here : http://sg.news.yahoo.com/afp/20080805/tap-singapore-us-internet-politics-oppos-06f3cb7.html

Well

I had a JavaScript test today, and today will be the last time I get to do JavaScript. I will have to do SQL Database next. The JS test was easy, and it was quite a waste of time. The good thing is that I can do it any way I want, so long as the end product comes out well. Just for a challenge, I did the whole thing using only 'If Else' statements. Haha...

I'll be blunt. I hate SQL. I hate it because it's troublesome, and it's very stupid. It's tedious to implement, and it is named SQL, which kind of sounds like 'Squeal' when you pronounce all the letters. It doesn't help that I have a crappy teacher. His name is Amos Lim, and you can imagine what the other guys call him. He has a degree, and his head is very large. Also, he seems to not understand that just because you have a degree, it doesn't mean you can teach well. He will not listen to our suggestions to make the class more interesting. He seems to have a goal in life. To kill us with his boring lectures, and make sure we die slowly and painfully.

Well, after the test, we went for a break, and when we came back, we practically slacked for 3 hours. The teacher was here, but he wasn't teaching for some reason. So, we sat there and surfed the Stomp! site, which is a Singaporean forum kind of thing. We saw an article on something about a woman who was breast-feeding her child not being allowed into a cafe or something, I didn't read the article. It was interesting anyways, since it gives a whole new meaning to the sign which was located next to her, "No Outside Food & Drinks Allowed."

Hmm..

Today I didn't go to school. Neither did I send my sister to school. Luckily, Bean did it. For some strange reason, I couldn't get up in the morning. Anyways, now that I think of it, rather than have some pathetic teacher teach me JavaScript in school, I'll learn it myself at home. Which is much better, since I'll be able to cover more and with the infinite power of the internet, I can find the answer to anything.

Yesterday, my family went out to buy some formal clothing for my father. Only my brother didn't come. Apparently he was not feeling well. Anyways, we spent most of the day wandering around VivoCity, and about half that time in the VivoMart, which is actually a big Giant Store. Giant is a supermarket kind of place here in Singapore, where people can buy their groceries. We had dinner at Carl's Jr.,and my dad and I tried one of thoese Jelapeno things. It was a small, bright yellow thing. I'm not going to eat those things again. It's painful, and it makes my eyes tear like nobody's business. The pain, however, only lasts for a few minutes. I see no need to pplace myself in such painful situations. I rather eat a bucket of pickles that were there next to the Jelapenos. The pickles were nice. I put like 5 or 6 into my burger. I would have put more, but the container they had there only had room for about 6 pickles, and I was lazy to go get some more. If Carl's Jr. wasn't so expensive, I would go there more often.

I need a job. The reason for this is that my parents cannot afford to give me much, and even if they could, I don't want to ask them for too much. I don't want to appear to them as someone who keeps asking for money. I cannot get a job now, because my school takes up most of my day, and I need to study. I want to get a weekend job, but I cannot find a company that will hire me to work only on weekends. I have visited some places, and they do not want a weekend worker, as they have many. That sucks.

I also want a job which will rely on my computer skills. That would be the best, but working in a departmental store would be good too. This is kind of stupid.

Anyways, I went for dinner with my neighbor yesterday, and we went to the E-hub at Downtown East. We went to some Japanese Restaurant upstairs, and I had Ramen and some sushi. The sushi was kind of mediocre, but the Ramen was DELICIOUS!! I shall go there again. Ramen costs about 11 dollars, but it's really filling, and it tastes really good. The handmade noodles are top notch, and the meat that comes with it is thinly sliced, and somehow tastes divine. The soup is probably what makes it taste so good.

Today, I will talk about improving your internet browsing experience. As I'm sure many of you know, Internet Explorer is not the best internet browser around. As such, I was obligated, when I got my first computer, to search for a better browser. I have come across a few which are worth mentioning. All the browsers I mention will be free. I don't know if there are any browsers which are not free. Anyways, the first browser I tried is Opera.

Opera starts up really fast, almost instantly, on my computer. Definitely a plus point. I like browsers that start up quickly. Anyways, one of the more interesting features of Opera is Speed Dial. It's like a page with many different thumbnails of webpages, all of which you can assign. This is useful, because I find it easier to use than the Bookmarks Bar, or any bookmark thing. You can just simply click the page you want to go, and you will go there. I use this speed dial thing as my home page.
You can download Opera at www.opera.com

The next browser I used was Mozilla Firefox. Firefox is widely used around the world, and is highly customisable. Customising is achieved via the installation of various 'add-ons'. These add-ons add more functionality to your browser, such as a dictionary or enabling video downloads from Youtube. One can also download this download manager, DownThemAll (DTA). Although Firefox has it's own download manager, DTA is a download accelerator as well. It can, according to their website, 'boost download sppeds by 400%'. I have never actually recieved speeds in excess of 300%, but it is a vast improvement, compared to the normal download manager. As I normally download trial programs to play with, this is very useful for me. As such, I have Firefox installed on my computer, just to download stuff. The only problem I have encountered with Firefox so far is that it keeps freezing for no apparent reason, especially when I am surfing forums. That is the only reason why I do not use Firefox as my main browser.
Mozilla Firefox can be downloaded at www.firefox.com

Safari is an Apple product. What more is there to say? It is fast, easy to use and looks good. However, it is not the best browser for me, as I like customisability, which this browser does not allow. For the average user, Safari is a good option, and can be used easily by anyone. All the important stuff is intuitively placed, and can be accessed by most without being taught. I do not use this browser much as I feel it is simple and cannot go far wrong. It is just a browser, and cannot be customised to suit my needs. However, it is good for users who do not like to customise their stuff.
Safari can be downloaded at www.apple.com/safari

I currently have all three installed on my computer, and I use all 3 for different purposes. I use Firefox for downloading large files, Opera for browsing, and Safari for quick checks, or mail checking, since it is the most secure.

Joke.

Haha..  I read this on the net :

At a recent computer expo (COMDEX), Bill Gates reportedly compared the computer industry with the auto industry and stated:

"If GM had kept up with technology like the computer industry has, we would all be driving twenty-five dollar cars that got 1,000 miles to the gallon."

In response to Bill's comments, General Motors issued a press release stating (by Mr. Welch himself):

"If GM had developed technology like Microsoft, we would all be driving cars with the following characteristics:

1) For no reason whatsoever your car would crash twice a day.
2) Every time they painted new lines on the road you would have to buy a new car.
3) Occasionally your car would die on the freeway for no reason, and you would just accept this, restart and drive on.
4) Occasionally, executing a manoeuvre such as a left turn, would cause your car to shut down and refuse to restart, in which case you would have to reinstall the engine.
5) Only one person at a time could use the car, unless you bought "Car95" or "CarNT". But then you would have to buy more seats.
6) Macintosh would make a car that was powered by the sun, reliable, five times as fast, and twice as easy to drive, but would only run on five percent of the roads.
7) The oil, water temperature and alternator warning lights would be replaced by a single "general car default" warning light.
8) New seats would force everyone to have the same size butt.
9) The airbag system would say "Are you sure?" before going off.
10) Occasionally for no reason whatsoever, your car would lock you out and refuse to let you in until you simultaneously lifted the door handle, turned the key, and grab hold of the radio antenna.
11) GM would also require all car buyers to also purchase a deluxe set of Rand McNally road maps (now a GM subsidiary), even though they neither need them nor want them. Attempting to delete this option would immediately cause the car's performance to diminish by 50% or more. Moreover, GM would become a target for investigation by the Justice Department.
12) Every time GM introduced a new model car buyers would have to learn how to drive all over again because none of the controls would operate in the same manner as the old car.
13) You'd press the "start" button to shut off the engine.

I have decided to share some of my computer knowledge, since I am bored and have nothing to do, other than wait till 11, at which time I have to go out, since I am meeting my friend for a barbeque, which will be preceded by a few games of bowling. Now, I am going to share information on how to cause a Windows XP computer to run faster. Some of these steps will work for Vista, but I haven't certified them, since I don't really use Vista, due to my computer being unable to fully support Vista Aero comfortably.

The first step, and probably the most basic and obvious, is to get rid of programs that you don't need. This is done through the 'Add or Remove Programs' software, which can be accessed by going to Start>Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs. Or you could simply press Windows Button + R, to get the run input box, then type 'appwiz.cpl'. Both these methods accomplish the same end.

After you have removed whatever programs you don't need, it's time to get rid of the startup programs. This can be done by pressing Windows Button + R again, and typing 'msconfig' in the input box.  Then, go to the Startup tab, and deselect anything that you don't want starting up when Windows does. This dramatically decreases the startup time of your computer. By startup time, I mean the time when you can actually start using your desktop, and running stuff, like your Internet Browser, or MSN Messenger. You could also go to the Services tab, and start deselecting services you don't use, but I recommend typing 'services.msc' at the Run window if you want to do that. The services descriptions in Msconfig are quite pathetic. The description is better in the Services.msc control. If you have multiple OS's on your computer, then you may want to proceed to the Boot.ini tab, and change the timeout to something like 5, to give you sufficient time to select an operating system.

You should also defrag your hard disk often. I personally do not like Windows default defragger. However, I cannot find a better, and easier to use alternative. To defrag the drive, go to My Computer, and right click the drive you want to defrag. Click on properties, and when the window opens, click tools. There should be a Defrag Now option. Select a hard disk, and click the analyse button. The computer will analyse the disk and later tell you if defragmentation is recommended. If defragging is recommended, then defrag the drive.

By following these steps, one can increase the responsiveness of your Windows system without having to go into the registry, which can be very dangerous if not done properly. My computer, by the way, took more than 1 minute 30 seconds to get it started up. Now, it takes about 40 seconds on average.

All this is done at your own risk, and in the unlikely event that something goes wrong, please do not blame me.

What.

The time is 4.36 a.m, and I am still awake. I can't sleep. It might be due to the fact that I have been sleeping from 5 something in the evening yesterday, till about 11.45 in the night. Hmm...  Anyways, I had my Computing Mathematics Final Exam yesterday, and it wasn't as difficult as I thought. Hehe...  The students going into the networking class next year have been selected. I was one of them. There are sad points, however. Some of my friends will not be joining me. They will be going to the multimedia class. Also, there will be a lack of eye candy in my new class.

I also do not have to go for the IAP, IAP being Industrial Attachment Programme. This is because I will be undergoing training in school for my competition. It's going to be full time training, from Mondays to Fridays, from 9 a.m to 5 p.m. I think it is going to be quite tiring. Never mind.

I want to go bowling. I will be going this Wednesday, after my Networking exam. With or without my friends. I don't care. If anyone wants to go with me, comment here, and put your name. :D

Today, by today, of course I mean yesterday, since the time is 12+a.m, and it wouldn't be reasonable to talk about less than an hour of day.  Anyways, today, I had my Networking phase test.  I think I mentioned this before:

Phase Test = Practical. Practical = Simple stuff. Simple stuff = waste of time.
As such, we can conclude that : Phase test = waste of time.

I say this because the easiest thing to do is practical. The theory is the more difficult part. I say more difficult, not difficult. At least the theory requires me to think a bit. The theory test was on Tuesday. If it was in the afternoon I wouldn't have minded. The fools had to hold it in the morning. At 9.30 a.m. What the hell. I had to take a cab to school because of that. I'm left dry for the rest of the week, since that cost me close to 10 bucks because of the stupid extra charges. Damn it.

The test was rather simple. Much simpler than I had expected. The only problem was that I didn't really know the Three-Way-Handshake crap. As such, I made up some stuff about a connection being made and acknowledgements being sent. I think that is more or less what they want to see.

Tomorrow, or rather, later, I will have to continue doing my VB project. By VB I mean Visual Basic. Visual Basic itself is easy. I just don't get why they have to include the damn SQL Server inside. Spoils the whole thing. As such, the project becomes that much more complicated. The servers don't work, since I can't bring them from home to school, unless I bring my lappy, which I try not to do, since it is quite heavy, and I do not enjoy lugging a heavy thing around. (And no, I do not wish to pretend I am in NS, in case you were wondering.)

Oh yes. By the way, one of my friends almost got into a fight. Jack Sparrow saved his life. While they were confronting him, he yelled,"OH MY GOD! WHAT'S THAT!?" The pathetic overgrown excuses for humans turned, and when they did, he disappeared. Running into the nearby block of flats, the games of his youth lent a hand to his dramatic escape. He ran up and down the blocks, and soon enough, lost the bunch of morons.

I just realised that a show about L, the highly intelligent and deductive detective in Death Note, will be coming out in the February - March period. Rest assured that I will watch it. I think it's about what he did during the 23 days of his life after he won the intellectual war with Kira, a.k.a Yagami Light.

It will be made by a different producer, but still aired under Warner Brothers. Also, the same actor will be starring in the movie, but I forgot his name.
